Situational and event traffic: what is it and what is the difference? We work with the rest of the traffic on event topics News and event traffic

Event traffic is usually understood as a sharply increased flow of people associated with the publication of some seasonal or one-time relevant material on the site. We can talk about sales on the eve of the holidays, aggravated topics during the election campaign or as a result of a resonant event in the world of public people.

In other words, the event is all that everyone is talking about right now. If you talk about it on your site, the influx of visitors can increase dramatically.

A separate niche is news traffic. It is also eventful, as it is associated with changing events in various areas, but this is a more stable influx of people that can be “converted”. How?

  • Speaking in the customer's world. If this is a clothing store customer, they can be offered new looks and celebrity brands.
  • Playing significant events through the prism of the services sold.
  • Offering something interesting in light of their products that the client did not know about (alternative uses for it, for example, when the same pallets are used to create the interiors of expensive restaurants, rather than loading).

Who needs event traffic

Event traffic and news organics are very effective solutions for those who intend to promote their brand, offer seasonal sales or promotions, work in the trash segment, and target a narrow audience. This approach works very well on sites of a purely female or male theme. It can be used by cosmetic, health sites, fashion stores. Weakly working "event" in the children's theme and SaaS.

Where to get news

The collection of information for quick publications (and the change of event content should be frequent) can be organized in different ways:

  • monitor websites of big newsmen;
  • view trending topics;
  • "peep" at competitors;
  • choose interesting directions on forums and in groups of social networks;
  • listen to expert opinions, etc.

How much to post

There is no specific number of publications per hour, day, week. Here, a lot depends on the thematic direction and the season (in some niches, seasonality goes off scale). The rule here is to take a daily update (at least 1 article per day) and a feed shift per week by 5–10 positions.

Size matters?

Not every piece of news can be written on an A4 page. Moreover, the reader does not need this. He wants to be in the know, to skim through information materials, trying to cover everything for today. Therefore, when describing events and news, it is more profitable to focus on the quality of presentation, rather than the amount of material. Pictures, tables, charts, summary infographics - all this makes the material more structured, and therefore more convenient for the reader.

The exception is important big sensational news. In some cases, they require a detailed feed. Then from the text in the amount of 500-1500 characters you need to go to longread . Depending on the information occasion, this can be either the standard 3–5 thousand characters or the impressive 10–12 thousand characters.

In both cases, structure takes precedence. Even if the reader with a very high probability will read and study the material from beginning to end, he should be left the opportunity to run the article diagonally.

Traffic - what could be more desirable for any webmaster? Well, except for money, of course, but as a rule, these two things are connected. The more traffic, the more money, the more money, the more content, and, accordingly, the traffic. But where to get traffic? Writing articles according to a pre-compiled content plan and semantic core is the main thing, but, in addition to this, there are various situations in which traffic begins to grow sharply. Let's take a look at what situational traffic is.

Situational, event and seasonal traffic

As it turned out, many webmasters confuse these concepts and you need to make out what they eat with what. There are three types of phenomena that affect demand (traffic) in certain niches:

  • situations
  • Events
  • seasonality

So how do they differ from each other? Now we'll tell you.

What is situational traffic

Situational traffic can be called the traffic that comes solely due to some situation. In the popular series, they showed a new hero, and everyone began to actively google him - the situation. If you have a page dedicated to this hero on your site, traffic will increase dramatically. Or let's say the World Cup has begun and some little-known football player has especially distinguished himself and everyone started to google his name, respectively, traffic on football sites where there is information about this player will grow. This is the very situational type of traffic, the surge of which does not last long, but sometimes quite brightly.

What is event traffic

It can also be called holiday traffic or event traffic, the occurrence of which was known long before the start. Yes, now many webmasters are already preparing for the New Year, March 8, and other holidays in advance and creating content, but not everyone is preparing for major events.

What is seasonal traffic

Now many have thought something in the style of “It's simple, medicine is more in winter, and tourism in summer”, but not everything is so banal. Seasons are not only winter, summer, autumn, spring, but also smaller ones. For example, fishing sites have spikes in traffic depending on the fishing season. If you know that pike season is coming soon, why not create a lot of content on this topic in advance?

So we figured out how the types of traffic differ from each other. Now let's decide what needs to be done to get as much situational and event traffic as possible.

Types of situational traffic

Every day something happens that affects traffic in different niches. Political events, the release of a new book or game, new movies, TV shows, and even natural disasters. Everything that happens in the world affects the traffic in a particular topic.

What situations affect traffic:

  • World news about something. For example, the news that scientists managed to photograph the far side of the moon - everyone began to actively search for photos of the far side of the moon.
  • A new movie from the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been released - everyone is actively starting to look for information about new heroes and villains. Or, for example, a film about Hawking was released - everyone is looking for Hawking.
  • Sports event. An unknown tennis player won the championship - everyone immediately googles him. Or there was a doping scandal and a list of Russian athletes who were caught doping was posted online - those interested will google the entire list.
  • The release of a new book or a series of series. What is there, what is there will google heroes, situations and theories of continuation.
  • Roskomnadzor posted a list of the most pirated Runet sites without domains, but only names - everyone began to actively search for these sites by name in Yandex, and those who had information about them received a lot of traffic.

This is the minimum list of situations that can lead to traffic growth. You can also add here: the launch of a new product on the market, a political scandal, disasters and incidents, news about celebrities, the emergence of a new disease or, on the contrary, a method of treatment, in general, anything.

Where to get themes

Finding topics for situational traffic is the hardest part. Often, oddly enough, such traffic comes by itself, and only then you learn about the event.

But you can at least try to track newsbreaks and respond to them. Your best bet is to look for topics for content in:

  • news
  • Social media
  • Follow popular movies, series and books
  • Monitor foreign websites

And now in more detail.

News

News sites are one of the best sources for situational content because they often the news itself creates situations. It all depends on your site and its niche, but any topic has its own news. Do you have a medical site? Watch out for honey. News, what new medicines and treatments for diseases are coming out, in general, any reasons that can drive traffic.

Social media

It's the same with news. You need to follow the profile communities and, if they have some important news, add it to your site. Keep in mind that sometimes information comes to social networks late and is taken from the same news or foreign sites.

Calendar

Oddly enough, don't forget to keep an eye on the calendar. If a new Olympiad opens tomorrow, then information about it is event traffic, but if some event happens at the Olympiad, then this is event traffic, respectively.

Foreign sites

Often on foreign sites information about various new products appears faster than ours. They are closer to Hollywood and other sources of world news, and major newsbreaks are always recognized and reviewed faster than us. Therefore, be sure to subscribe to the RSS feeds of specialized sites and follow the news. If you see something new and important, immediately translate it to your site.

What do we have to do

To begin with, follow all the sources that we described above. If you see a newsbreak, immediately create content and do not forget about SEO optimization.

Also, you can try to predict situations in advance. Let's say you know that a new book and series of the series will be released soon and a new hero will be presented in it, so why not write an article about him in advance?

Event traffic

The release of a new series that millions of people are waiting for is an event, not a situation. And for such events, accordingly, you need to prepare in the same way. The advantage of such traffic over situational traffic is that you know what will happen and when it will happen. Dates of holidays, releases of films, games, sports events are always known in advance and you can prepare for them in advance.

If it's a movie, you can write many articles in advance with plot theories or preliminary descriptions of famous characters.

Always analyze what's new in your niche and prepare for these events.

It is quite simple to analyze future events, calendar and news. The news will tell you what's new, and the calendar will not let you forget about it. Well, if you have a site about films, then you simply have to be aware of all future news.

Cons of situational and event marketing

Perhaps one of the main disadvantages is the difficulty in creating content that will shoot. As mentioned above, often such traffic comes by itself and it is very difficult to influence it.

The second disadvantage is not the durability of traffic. After 2-3 days, everyone will stop Google and the traffic will come to naught. Of course, some part of the visitors may stay on your site and enter it by direct access or through personalized search results.

pros

The positive impact of such traffic on the SEO of the site can be attributed to the pluses. It is believed that the amount of traffic affects the further SEO of the site. Upon reaching 10,000 users per day, Yandex issues the “Popular Site” badge, which also cannot but affect further promotion and traffic. In general, even a temporary surge in traffic will have a positive impact on the entire future of the site.

Traffic growth is of course also a plus. Traffic growth = income growth. So, even if you receive more income than usual for 2-3 days, this will be a great bonus. By the way, it is not uncommon for traffic from a newsbreak to exceed regular site traffic by 5-7 times. Accordingly, income for these days will also grow several times.

Low competition. As a rule, if the event is new, then there may not be much competition in the search results for it. If a new game came out and you were one of the first to write a walkthrough guide, all the traffic is yours. Because other guides just haven't come out yet. Well, so with everything else. The main thing is efficiency.

Conclusion

Constantly analyze your niche and follow the news. If you have made a site dedicated to the Game of Thrones, then you should definitely watch each episode (this is a figurative example, we know that the series has ended), and analyze what new users can start looking for on this series and immediately create this content until it created by others.

And do not forget to be sure to prepare content for all holidays and world events. In almost any niche, this can be done. For example, a gaming site for the new year may write “TOP 5 games about the new year” or something like that. traffic to you.

Earnings on event / seasonal traffic 500,000 rubles / month. The case was written by me as part of a competition for one of the closed forums, which is now in the “dying” stage, so that the information does not disappear, I post it here.

Earnings on seasonal/event traffic is always an up-to-date and successful strategy. There is always a place in event traffic, fast results in event traffic, and competition in event traffic is usually lower.

There is a lot of event and seasonal traffic, it is always new, an unlimited number of countries and languages are available for work. It is ideal for doorways and "fast gray schemes".

Topics for event traffic:

  • Sports events (tournaments, etc.);
  • Holidays;
  • Any events (exhibitions, Oscars, theaters, rock star performances and anything);
  • Political and news events (Russian-Ukrainian crisis, war in Syria, ISIS, French presidential elections, etc.);
  • Release of a new product (Tesla machines, super-new Zerber 2000+ slimming simulator, new technology release, etc.);
  • Thousands of other unlimited themes to work with, always something new. Every day. In all languages. All over the world.

Keys:

  • SemRush/Achrefs/analogues;
  • Google.Adwords - Keyword Planner or Wordstat.Yandex;
  • Tip parsing;
  • As in any other webmaster business, any methods of collecting keys will do;

How to earn:

  • Google.Adsense - will accept almost any event traffic and generously pay for each click;
  • There are millions of CPA offers all over the world, in any country, for every taste. It is enough to type "affiliate program" in the language you need + the name of your topic and you will plunge into the vast world of spa networks.

I use only these two methods of monetization and I think that they are more than enough. Any popular offers that are close to the topic are also perfectly converted on event traffic.

Niche search:

  • An excellent service will help you find a niche - here Google stores logos dedicated to various events. You can view as you need and get a picture for which event to make sites.
  • Google.Trends - - the oldest service - you can see everything in 3 clicks.
  • Monitor other sites with announcements: if the niche is hard - sites with new products and announcements of new devices, if the niche is sports - announcements of upcoming sporting events, etc.

There are hundreds of ways to tell them all you need to write a book, but these basic ones will be enough for any earnings.

Event traffic case No. 1 - Runet

A year ago, the World Cup was held in Brazil. A new domain was taken, a beautiful and simple free theme (template) was taken and the WordPress engine (RU language) was installed. The site was flooded with information copied from other sources: photos of stadiums, participating countries, some tables, videos, and so on.

Those. copy-paste from 2-3 sites that contained this information. The result was about 50 pages. Stadiums are displayed on the main page, the counter to the World Cup has N days left, promo pictures of the championship, a couple of YouTube videos, a few offers with keys: world cup football, 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil and the like.

Roughly speaking, the site was a very competent "mix" of photo-video, tables, texts. The content was “packaged in a beautiful wrapper” and responded to user requests.

2-3 hours of work were spent on everything, the site was sent to the addurilka and waited in the wings for 2-3 months. A few weeks later, reference mass was purchased in SAPA (budget about 10,000 rubles per month), about 10 trust articles were bought on Blogun.

For monetization, the WilliamHill affiliate program and a couple of similar PPs at rates were chosen. Also, Google Adsense blocks were densely placed on the site. The background of the site consisted of a landing page for an affiliate program (just like the KinoPoisk website announces films), as well as banners from PP and advertising blocks.

During the championship, pages were created with the name of the matches, and on these pages a frame was placed with online broadcasts of the matches and a short description.

As a result = TOPs on requests = traffic = clicks in Adsense = earnings in PP.

In total, the site brought about 5,000 - 6,000 USD. within 2-3 months. After the end of the championship, the residual traffic remained a little, then it completely dropped to 10 people a day and the site successfully “went down in history” of Webarchive.

Case income screenshots:

1. PP William Hill

2) Google.Adsense

Tip: look for slightly competitive similar niches and get traffic for them. In highly competitive even event events (for example, the World Championships), there may not be enough knowledge and experience to raise significant traffic.

Seasonal traffic case #2 – Bourges

The event niche was taken, but already under bourgeois (language - English). The .COM domain was registered, the WordPress theme was chosen, and the .

No money was invested in the site for copyright, a “mix” of content was used by analogy with the site from the previous case, about 2-3 weeks were spent on linking (manual link building) and SAPA was purchased (at the moment the site is completely filtered -).

I won’t indicate the topic, just like the PP, it’s enough to spend a few minutes on the links above (for example,) and find yourself a seasonal niche + PP for it. This is not a problem at all, there is only one problem - traffic!

Case income screenshots:

Total: earnings 7 300 c.u. for a month, which was almost 100% net profit (about 500,000 rubles at the current USD/Russian ruble exchange rate).

The site continued to make a profit for a long time, until it got under the “Penguin” update, the site “worked out” well and deservedly retired.

Now let's talk about ways to get event traffic, some of the main ones:

  • YouTube - we take videos on the topic from where our hands reach, we make a new YouTube channel (for the selected niche / kei) and upload the video there in full (the main thing is that they are less relevant, but 100% similarity is not required), then it is written in the title of the video + in description + in the tags, the keys we need are massively uploaded (by hand or automatically) and merge traffic (via a link in the description or annotation). Works great. Lots of traffic. Will always be. Fast effect.
  • Facebook and other social platforms (Instagram, for example) - everything is by analogy here, whoever knows how, register accounts, make business pages / publics, there are more keys, pictures, videos and go.
  • Doorways: also in terms of making money on event traffic, DOORWAYS are perfect. It's even easier here. A fairly broad and event-driven theme is chosen. Gathering kei and forward. Everything is standard. You can drain as “hard” as possible, because in an event-based one, speed is important, and the consequences in the form of bans and filters are already less significant.
  • Niche sites - massively and a lot. You can expand endlessly. We register domains, upload CMSs there, parse / generate, or, as in a case, insert more thematic content with our hands, put links and get traffic. It is also very good to prepare in advance. Make 10-20 sites for interesting topics in the foreseeable future and wait in the wings.

Summing up:

All you need is to choose an interesting event niche with the potential for a good amount of traffic. Then you need:

A) Or create a niche narrow site for this topic, then you will get priority in the PS even with promoted portals and will be able to collect traffic.

The largest portals with huge budgets and a staff of people cannot cover everything at once and never will be able to. As you can see from case #1, a small niche site easily bypasses such old and trusted sites like Championship.ru or Sports.ru and gets into the TOPs for the right keywords.

A very important tip: choose less competitive topics, otherwise you may not have enough experience, finances, and time to take the necessary TOPs. The benefit of slightly competitive seasonal / event topics, where you can take the TOP-3 or TOP-5 mass.

B) Either generate doors by topic and skim the cream.

C) In parallel, make (if you wish) YouTube channels and Facebook landing pages.

D) Buying traffic in Google.Adwords/Y.Direct/other PPC is an almost instant way to test a niche.

Event traffic is a great opportunity for mastering doorways (it's a hundred times easier than getting at least 100 uniques in the same farm). Seasonal and event traffic is a great opportunity to test some of your developments and assumptions - a quick effect - a quick result.

Event traffic happens and in general with the minimum competition. Politics. News. New products. Everything moves and changes. There is always an opportunity to GO FORWARD.

Yandex has more and more different services. From a simple search, he slowly moves towards the portal. An attempt to loop all traffic on itself is already visible. If earlier it concerned commerce for the most part, now it begins to eat traffic from non-commercial resources.

So, if anyone hasn't seen it yet:

Perfectly indexed and ranked by Yandex itself. Collects news and event traffic. There are social elements.

Questions and answers from our Yasha. Direct competition to many article writers. The subject matter is as broad as possible. Materials, if you read, are not written by ordinary people. This is not a Q&A from Mail, where they ask all sorts of nonsense and give answers at random. At this stage, Yandex, apparently, monitors the content.

Yes Yes. The market began to encroach on information requests too. The clerks are resting. From cooking to renovation. Certainly, there is a strict selection of materials. Especially when it comes to complex topics. In this case, you can expect that these articles, as well as Connoisseurs, will be trusted by users. I have already written about content expertise and why, in my opinion, it is important.

Everything about everything.

Other

Yandex has many services. And, if you dig, you can find where they also rank well for info queries.

For example, here is some background information:

Do you think all these pages have a ranking boost? Have you seen any other examples?

Of course they have! Yandex will absorb almost the entire Runet over time. Only highly specialized services will remain.

Why didn’t you indicate the fucking Yandex Direct — which appears for every commercial request and hangs out exactly in the middle of the search results — offering to go and select fucking sites from the ads in the direct?

Hey! Although the case is old, it is still possible to repeat it, since the main “trick” is the hype of the topic and event traffic.

The site was launched at the end of 2014 and sold in January 2016. I remember those times fondly. Then there was no such rampant randomness in search engine algorithms, there was no crazy IPC from Yandex and merciless YMYL from Google 😊.
By the way, I will highlight all the important points and life hacks that can be applied now in italics. Do not think that a case with age and mammoth excrement is completely useless 😉

At the time of the creation of this project, I had already been in the topic of making money on sites for more than a year. At that time, I had several projects for references bought on Telderi. He also tried to launch infosites with his colleague.

The idea to make a resource on the topic of the crisis was dictated by the economic situation in the country. And when "black" Tuesday came, we decided that this was a hint from the Universe 😊 It was decided to register a domain and launch.

Work plan

Before the launch, we planned all the work, distributed the areas of responsibility:

  1. I was responsible for SEO, semantics, author search and 50% of article placement.
  2. My colleague - for the technical part, TOR for the designer and 50% of the placement of articles.

The work plan consisted of the following steps:

  1. Design (find a theme, finish it, draw a logo).
  2. Collection of semantics on key topics that the crisis concerns in the first place.
  3. Drafting of TOR.
  4. Search for authors to quickly write articles.
  5. Quick placement of written articles.
  6. Monetization of the first normal traffic.

Design

They didn't bother much with the design. My colleague found a minimalistic clean theme. After minor edits and with the words "herak-herak and in production" I rolled out the finished version.

The logo that is still hanging was ordered from FL.ru for 500 rubles 😊

Semantic core

After registering the domain and creating a minimal design, we brainstormed to collect the semantic core. We decided to collect semantics on the following topics, as well as create the following headings:

  1. All Russian crises -1991, 1998, 2008, as well as the new 2014-2015.
  2. At the beginning there were not very many headings: Dismissals, Pensions, Unemployment, Salaries, Real Estate, Industry, Auto business, Economics. The semantics for them was going to be as negative as possible from the category of “sales are falling, we are all going to die”! I think now such topics would go well in Zen😊.
  1. A few months later, they added forecasts for the dollar and euro; forecasts for oil and gasoline prices; Credits, Tourism, Sanctions. And separately - the news section, where every day my colleague and I wrote alternately 1-2 articles.

The authors

After preparing the semantics, they compiled a TOR and sent it to ETXT. At that time, we did not yet have our own paid copywriters, we had to look for freelancers on the stock exchanges. By the way, in 2014-2015 it was not difficult to find a normal author for 20-25 rubles, and technical specifications were snapped up in 10-15 minutes.

The main articles for SEO were written very quickly and showed off on the site in a few days. Almost immediately began to bring traffic.

It is worth noting one feature that we used when compiling the TOR. The authors had to write the texts WITHOUT special reference to the events. Where it was necessary to put dates, put down only the year in order to change to a new one next year. Readers wouldn't even notice. Thus it was possible to achieve timeless content😊

The articles consisted of general information on the crisis: how hard it is for people, how hard it is for the economy as a whole, as well as the opinions of experts, expressed in the same way - without reference to specific events, so that it was impossible to determine the year from them.

I'm sure the articles would shoot even now (albeit not so well), but they scored on the site. More on that at the end.

Despite this approach, the articles went well and were commented on. Some have collected several hundred comments in a couple of months.

The big mistake I see now was writing the daily news. They did not attract traffic, but they took time, because we ourselves rewrote the news. It would be better if this time was spent searching for related topics for headings, and then collecting semantics, compiling technical specifications, etc.

Accommodation

Articles were posted by me and my colleague. At that time, we did not have content managers, but despite this, the articles were posted as soon as possible, as we were on fire with this project and were afraid that if we did not hurry, the topic would become too competitive and overheated.

Traffic

Surprisingly, there were only a few resources on the topic of the crisis, although there was a lot of traffic. In the second month after the start of the project, we hit the bar of 13,000 unique visitors per day!
Now a site of a similar theme can be well warmed up with traffic from Yandex.Zen and Pulse from Mile.ru. With this approach, you can collect tens of thousands of uniques per day.

In addition, a traffic exchange affiliate program was connected to the site, and it was also added to the aggregator - Novoteka.

External optimization

Thanks to a pool of our own resources, among which there were about 20 media sites, the first links were placed from our projects, which gave a good start to the future.

In the future, the articles diverged sharply on social networks, and also collected a large number of links from the forums. Links from forums brought 3-5% of the total traffic.

Services

A completely different situation was with the YAN. The chosen ones were there. For Yandex, our site did not seem to be favorites 😊
In addition, several banners from Admitad were hung up: credit cards from Tinkoff Bank and from the financial partner Leads.su. We made a separate tab with microloans, where we brought together all the MFIs available at that time into one table. We had a hypothesis that people who read the news about the crisis have themselves suffered from the crisis.

In fact, this hypothesis did not justify itself. For all the time, only 1 card from Tinkov was issued and several microloans were approved. However, there were quite a lot of applications for microloans, 3-5 per day, but they were not approved.

Since I had my own and partner resources that traded eternal links on link exchanges, the site was added to GGL and PR.Sape, where the price was set at 1000 rubles per link. At the time, that was a very decent price for a link.

Selling decision

The site grew well organically. But in our naivety, we thought that the crisis was coming to an end. The project will soon become irrelevant. For fear of missing peak values, put it up for sale.

At the time of the sale (beginning of 2016), my colleague and I passed the Marathon

It was decided to evaluate the site at 20 months payback for the optimal price and 30 months for Blitz.

As a result, the site was sold to a very persistent buyer for the optimal price. Although the auction was active, it was possible to sell more expensive. But the fear of missing “that very moment” for selling won out. The site went for the best price.

To warm up the auction in the description of the lot, they asked to request all the information of interest in the comments. Therefore, the lot has always hung in the Popular and attracted a lot of people who wanted to see the URL, as well as those who were really ready to purchase the project.

I want to focus on the buyer separately. He was extremely persistent, which made us worry that we were missing out on some benefit that the buyer sees.

Having “smoked” all the ideas, they did not find anything that could give x2-3-5 for the growth of earnings. Therefore, we decided to give the site for the best price.

As it turned out later, the buyer had his own affiliate program for issuing microloans. He thought that by hanging it on the site, he would get rich.

But as I wrote above, microloans did not go in, there were many applications, but they were not approved. The buyer also got into the same situation, because of which, after only 2 months, he resold the site to another person for the same amount.

It is worth noting that, in fact, we were in a hurry with the sale, because:

  1. The theme could be expanded and expanded.
  2. The crisis has not gone away so far.
  3. It was necessary to abandon the publication of news and send all the forces to search for topics to expand the subject.
  4. It was possible to make many more useful services, turning the site into a cool financial and economic portal.
  5. Monetization could have been improved many times over.
  6. We decided to sell when the traffic began to sag a little, but we had to wait a bit for some event in the economy. Then the site would show better results in terms of traffic and it could be sold at a higher price.

And a lot more could be done to increase traffic and income, and as a result, sell the site many times more expensive. But it's good to think in hindsight 😊

Despite all the shortcomings on this project, we managed to earn x5 from the initial investment. In total, about 50k rubles were spent, and net earnings for the year amounted to 250k+.

The further fate of the site

For some reason, the new owner of the site hung up a tovarka (shta!??) and scored on him. True, after some time he changed his mind and returned the Adsense blocks to their original places instead of the goods.

The site is still alive, but since 2016 nothing has been added or updated there.

If the new owner changed the dates of articles (in meta tags and texts), he would get traffic. But, apparently, the person lost interest in the project completely.

What is the use of a case?

As I wrote at the very beginning, a similar case can be repeated now, but much more successfully. What do I need to do?

  1. Extend the semantics to Bitcoin, the approaching global crisis that is promised in 2021 (topics like: will there be a crisis in 2020, will there be a crisis in 2021, how much will the dollar cost in January 2020, etc.), strikes throughout Russia, riots around the world (Hong Kong, Libya, Chile, etc.). The main thing is to make full-fledged long reads and not try to turn the site into a news site with daily news updates. Just write analytical articles, but with an emphasis on the fact that they will be alive in 2020 and 2021 and 2022, just by changing the dates in the meta tags and texts.
  1. Add useful services: calculators, currency quotes, catalogs by subject organization, etc.
  1. Add Yandex.Zen and Pulse.Mail for the site. Yes, connecting Zen or Pulse to RSS is now a difficult task, but you can post the same articles there as on the site.
  1. Add traffic exchange teasers, try to add the site to Yandex and Google News.
  1. Get confused with monetization as much as possible: YAN, Adsense, affiliate programs, push notifications.
