Windows

Windows has a standard backup and restore tool that allows you to save both individual files and an entire image from which you can restore the system in case of a failure.

Next, the system will ask you to specify the location to save the archive. Please note that if you want to back up data from drive C, you cannot save it there. If you remember the principles of creating a backup, the archive must be stored on a separate medium, and not on the same computer from which the copy was made.

Windows 8 and higher

The built-in File History tool allows for real-time archiving. It only needs initial setup to work.

Select a drive other than the system drive, a USB flash drive or a network folder as the storage location. Click Enable.

macOS
