1. Download the archive of the main mod, take the meshes, scripts folders and the AutoUnequipPipboy.esp file and drop them into the Data folder in the game, activate the AutoUnequipPipboy.esp file in the NMM manager or manually.
2. If you want to be able to change the slots for the equipment of the Pip-Boy, change the appearance of the Pip-Boy, create containers for storing the Pip-Boy, then download the addons from the additional links and install.
3. How to install mods


Fallout 4 Pip-Boy is a pocket (more precisely, wrist) personal computer of the Survivor. This is the main element of the interface through which you can control the gameplay. Without it, it is impossible to survive in the Wasteland - there will be no access to weapons, medicines, tasks, maps. But what is the CCP capable of, how can it be controlled, and can it be modified?

What is Pip-Boy

The Pip-Boy 3000 Mk IV is a pre-war wrist portable computer. It was specially designed by RobCo to store and exchange information among Vault residents. It is a wrist-mounted device with a monochrome green (although you can change the color in the game settings) monitor and several buttons / wheels for control.

The survivor picks up the Pip-Boy from the scientist's skeleton when trying to get out of the shelter ("Time is running out" quest). This device replaces the gamer's game menu - it will allow access to inventory, quest log, map and other important sections.

Device functions

This wrist computer collects all the information necessary for the inhabitants of the Vaults: about the health of the wearer, his inventory, position in space, skills, and so on. Able to show the current time and analyze the state of the owner (the amount of radiation in the body, the presence of physical damage).

In Fallout 4, Pip-Boy 3000 version 4 allows the player to:

  1. View player statistics - current level and status in the game, health status, S.P.E.C.I.A.L. parameters and skills.
  2. Dig into the character's inventory by selecting weapons, armor, medicines or other categories of items.
  3. Get acquainted with the current data on the task and a list of all taken quests, their statistics and other useful information.
  4. Examine terrain maps in Pip-Boy and determine the position in the Fallout world
  5. Tune in to FM waves and listen to radio broadcasts from the Wasteland.
  6. Launch mini-games from the found holodisks, made in the style of arcade machines from the 70s and 80s.
  7. Turn on flashlight in dark areas for better visibility.

The last opportunity is the innovation of Fallout 4. Previously, it was impossible to play through Pip-boy - he performed only work functions.

Pip-boy 3000 problems

Unfortunately, the following bug sometimes appears in Fallout 4: the PDA simply disappears from the hand, becoming invisible. This is often due to incomplete graphics features, although the reason may lie in the use of cheats or trainers.

It is very simple to fix the problem when Pip-Boy disappears in Fallout 4. Just open the console and enter the code player.equipitem 00021b3b 1 and leave the game. After restarting the PDA, it will reappear on your hand.

How to use Pip-Boy in Fallout 4

The player finds the PDA almost at the beginning of the game. After that, parting with him will not work - the Survivor will never take him off his hand.

In the computer version of the game, the device is controlled by a mouse and / or keyboard:

  1. To call Pip-Boy in the standard layout, press Tab. Holding the key will turn on the flashlight.
  2. To switch sections, you need to press A or D, or click on the desired item with the mouse.
  3. To enlarge or reduce the image on the screen, you need to open the Pip-Boy and right-click to the desired size.

To control each specific section, under the device, there are hotkeys that perform specific functions (put on, throw away, display, use, and so on). These keys can be changed in the Game Settings for more convenient ones.

Varieties of Pip-Boy

By default, no other Survivor Pip-Boy models are available in Fallout 4. Unlike, for example, Fallout: New Vegas, where you could get a pretentious version of the PDA "Pimp-Boy 3 billion", cast in gold and decorated with precious stones.

Graphics - almost unchanged

Fallout 76 does not have any graphic innovations: the picture as a whole has become nicer, but the game does not bring any specific miracles. Some materials have been carried over directly from the previous part: wild ghouls (Feral Ghouls), for example, look and behave absolutely similar to their counterparts from Fallout 4.

The overall color scheme has changed: to replace the vibrant Commonwealth colors from Fallout 4, the vastness of West Virginia can be observed in the warm tones of autumn forest leaves, which are regularly replaced by green meadows and plains.

Interface - slightly changed

The interface is somewhat different: it is also taken from Fallout 4, but there will be more new details here. This is due to the addition of multiplayer and the inability to pause the game. This forced the developers to add a "quick inventory": you can put weapons and equipment used in the cells of the radial menu without opening the entire inventory.

The usual inventory is also supplemented. Now you can choose: whether to use "Pip-Boy" - the interface of which, with the exception of small details, copies a model from Fallout 4 - or the menu that opens when using power armor (also, by the way, from the mentioned part).

And here is a map from Pip-Boy. In all previous parts of the series, the map was displayed in two colors on the device of the vault dweller. Now, however, you need to navigate through Appalachia (the official name of the area of \u200b\u200bthe game) on a separate map, similar to a tourist one. Functionally, it does not differ from its counterparts from past Fallout, but visually it has changed - the two-color design has been replaced by a hand-drawn tourist version.

During the game, the Fallout 76 interface has been replenished with new elements. Above the strip of health points (HP) is a list of team members, their level of HP and radiation contamination. Above the action points (AP) bar are hunger and thirst scales. Survival-oriented RPG forces you to monitor the state of your character, keeping him fed and drunk.

In the upper right corner, active quests are now displayed: both your own and your team members. Without taking up a lot of space, they let you track your progress without having to check the menu.

Gameplay - minor changes

The game mechanics had the most tweaks: some were tuned for single player and needed to be changed. In particular, we are talking about the system. Starting from, when V.A.T.S was activated, time would stop, allowing the player to select specific body parts, and shots were fired automatically with a certain hit chance.

In Fallout 76, V.A.T.S works differently: the time does not stop now, and the shot is fired immediately after the selection. A specific body part can only be selected if the player has the required perk from the Perception characteristic. The shot also happens automatically, and he also has a certain chance to hit the target.

Separately, you can see the improvement in the construction system from Fallout 4. Compared to it, in Fallout 76 much more objects will be available - both structural (options for walls, floor, foundation, roof), and decorative and functional. You can choose different types of one type of object - for example, several shapes and colors of a table or shelf. There are also more ways to have fun: in your camp you can make musical instruments and play with your team!

The developers have not forgotten about mechanisms useful for survival: the range of traps and means of protection has been replenished with new types of turrets and spiked platforms. All this is useful for protection from other players, since starting a duel, the turrets of the fighting player will help in battle. In Fallout 76, in addition to survivors, you should beware of fauna - wild animals and monsters will regularly raid the bases. The buildings can be destroyed, so there is a reason to install a couple of additional turrets.

In addition to all this, buildings can be saved in memory by creating blueprints - so if a player wants to build a copy of a house or restore a destroyed one, it is enough to select your blueprint and the necessary items will be built themselves (with enough materials).

But in the combat mechanics, there are almost no changes besides V.A.T.S. The only significant difference is in the wounds: if the player is deprived of all health, he will fall to his knees, unable to move - as some NPCs did in the Elder Scrolls and Fallout series. Only if the latter cannot be killed, then for the player this is the last chance to survive. The wounded can be lifted from his feet, and he will return to battle. But if no one dares to help, then he will die, leaving all his trash at the place of death.

He can take it back by returning to the point of death. But only if the killer doesn't get ahead of him. And the player chooses the place of spawn: he needs to choose a location on the map, and he will appear there. Fast travel is also available in Fallout 76, but you have to pay for travel with caps. You can also move to team members, but, again, not free.

Fallout 76 - failure or long-awaited success?

The idea of \u200b\u200bmultiplayer in the Fallout series came from Bethesda a long time ago. Although many fans of the series do not like such an idea, it is clear that the studio is acting confidently, but cautiously - this, for example, is indicated by the future early access to Fallout 76, called B.E.T.A (you can read about the beta test) and conducted to troubleshoot the game.

The accuracy of the company is also indicated by the huge number of similarities with Fallout 4 - Bethesda decided not to delve into new technical and graphic innovations, focusing on the multiplayer, on which the studio itself is working for the first time (the company is the publisher of some online games, including The Elder Scrolls Online, but not is the developer).

Nevertheless, it is too early to decide the fate of Fallout 76 - as the journalists who attended the press screening note, the three hours that were allotted to them for the game are too short to appreciate the continuation of the series at its true worth. We just have to wait for the release, which will take place on November 14 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
