PiPO M8HD - Specifications. PiPO M8HD - Specifications Information on the brand, model and alternative names of a specific device, if any

The new Pipo Max M8 HD has replaced the Pipo Max M8 pro model. The main difference between these models is the display. Pipo M8 HD received a new large 10.1 "display with a resolution of 1920x1200 pixels. dimensions and weight. The edges of the frames around the display have become a little narrower. To keep the larger display running, the M8 HD received a more powerful battery, with a capacity of 8000mAh, versus 6700mAh for the M8 pro. Both models also have a 3G modification. that is, a built-in modem that allows you to use a standard SIM card to access the Internet.

Get acquainted with the main technical characteristics or place an order.

As we mentioned above, the model has kept interesting, stylish design Looks like Sony Xperia Z. Slightly thicker at the top, tapering slightly towards the bottom.

Two stereo speakers are located on the front panel, above the display. As an interesting detail, the power button is placed on the upper part of the right edge. To turn on the tablet, press the button and hold it for several seconds. Ditto for shutdown. A short press on the button turns off the screen, while the tablet is in working order and consumes battery power. And if you leave it in this state for a long time, the charge at a new start may not be enough not only for work, but also for starting the tablet. in case of correct complete shutdown: to do this, you must confirm the shutdown twice (turn off the power-yes), then (the tablet PC will be turned off-OK). After completing this procedure, the tablet can be in standby mode without additional recharging for up to 200 hours.

A headphone jack is located on the opposite side.

The rest of the connectors: "Rocker" volume, this model has it and is made in the form of a corresponding switch. Power adapter jack for a standard 2.5 "round jack. The model is powered by a 5M, 2500mA adapter. The next mini HDMI jack is for connecting a tablet to a TV. The next two are similar USB connectors for connecting to a PC and HOST for connecting external devices, via OTG cable... Small hole for the built-in microphone. Slot for external micro SD card up to 32GB. And a standard size SIM card slot.

When using the built-in modem (working via a SIM card), you should pay attention that if installed in a working tablet, the card may not be immediately identified. In order for the tablet to see it and start connecting, you may need to reboot the tablet, or install the Sim into a non-working tablet and turn it on.

The tablet is equipped with two cameras: the front 2MP for Skype and the rear 5MP with flash and autofocus.

Next to the 5MP camera, on back cover The tablet has a special hole labeled Reset. It can come in handy if the computer freezes, to reboot it. In order to reboot or get rid of the "freeze" that has occurred, it is necessary to use a thin change (with a special "key", an unbent paper clip, etc., gently press through the hole on the button located under the case.

No one is immune from such a situation, we can honestly admit that software adapted or produced by Chinese manufacturers is not themselves strong point... Therefore, select programs from official manufacturers from official resources for work. A large number of different programs can be obtained for free or for not much money through the android market, the capabilities of which can be accessed from the corresponding application installed on the tablet.

You can use programs, updates from third-party manufacturers at your own peril and risk, do not forget that in this case, you can lose official warranty support. Please note that in order to work with some programs, games or applications downloaded through the Play Store, you must use your Internet account (mail), which you create or use the existing one. When installing network versions of programs that require registration and confirmation of your data via the Internet, these programs may not work if there is no Internet connection.

As a rule, the tablet already comes with a number of pre installed programs, and most of them can duplicate each other's actions. For example, you can use various programs to view video or audio files. Usually, before starting such a program, the tablet offers you a version of the program and the ability to use it "only now" or "always". For example, you can choose a standard Launcher or a beautiful Pipo Family launcher, which includes 4 desktops in the style of Windows 8.

In the upper right corner, after launching the branded pipo launcher, you can see a small pink triangle. With it, you can launch a special children's launcher. In case of desire and some kind of understanding of English language, you can organize a children's page on your tablet.

To exit to the standard menu and view the installed programs, click the "6 squares" menu item (above in the photo).

After that, you can go to the next window with standard icons displaying the corresponding programs.

All possible settings, including the ability to remove some unnecessary programs are in the "Settings" menu.

If necessary, you can always return the tablet to the factory settings via the "Restore and Reset" item. We will look at this procedure in more detail in next review, it is identical for almost all pipo tablet computers.

Now some benchmarks and benchmarks from AnTuTu X Benchmark:

Our tablet has been successfully identified as Pipo M8HD

After the launch, I gave the following information, according to which our device takes the honorable 10th place among the flagships of well-known manufacturers. In fairness, it should be noted that out of the three times the tests were re-launched, the indicators changed slightly, but the place was still 10th.

Let's repeat some indicators, numbers that are probably poorly distinguishable in the photo:

Over the past three weeks, I have already written reviews about New Year's gifts: to my son, to colleagues at work. This review is entirely devoted to my wife's New Year's gift - a Chinese tablet from PIPO - Max-M8HD.

When choosing a tablet model, the wife's wishes indicated the main criteria: a large screen and the ability to work on a 3G network. Chinese stores offer a fairly large assortment of ten-inch tablets, but this particular model stood out from the others with its original design.
About choosing a store - at the time of ordering this model was in stock in several places, but the price was almost the same. Using a coupon for a 5% discount and part of the accumulated points, the price was about $ 270. The order was made at the end of November, sent by China post and received by me just before the New Year. Tinidil is bad (an ordinary paper bag pasted over from the inside with one layer of "pimples". To my happiness, the Russian Post could not greatly damage the packaging)) the tablet came safe and sound.

The device comes in a very thin box. Initially, I thought that nothing really could be put into it, except for the tablet itself, which, however, was not far from the truth.

All accessories were in additional packaging.

Appearance, materials, assembly
Externally, the Pipo M8HD is a thin and light device with a slight bevel at the end. It looks atypically subtle. The overall thickness of the case is uniform and the bevel at the end of the case is purely decorative, which creates the illusion of a thin device. Initially, it may seem that the device is copying the first Sony tablet, although more precisely, it looks more like the side of the Apple case. MacBook Air, where the bevel is a well-realized illusion of decreasing thickness .. The tablet is not plastic, not typical in appearance and it immediately catches the eye. By the way, despite the similarity with Sony tablet, the M8HD's speakers are located on the front side, and not on the back, as in Xperia Tablet S. This is definitely a big plus of the model.

Most of the connectors are located on top end: slot for a SIM card, a slot for a memory card, two microUSB connectors (one for connecting to a PC, the second for connecting a USB-OTG cable), a microHDMI port and a connector for its own charger... You can also see the indicator light here (a very strange place for its location).

I think you noticed the two double buttons, initially I thought it was a volume rocker, but it turned out to be the combined "Menu" and "Back" buttons. It is completely incomprehensible to me why abandon the volume rocker (and it really does not exist, the volume changes using the on-screen buttons), but at the same time add a strange key that emulates the actions of calling the menu and the Back button. rocker - when pressed briefly, it works as a menu-back, when held as a volume control)
On the right side there is only the power button, and on the left there is a 3.5 mm headphone jack.

There is a webcam on the front and there are no control buttons. On the wide side, there are two sound speakers that are aimed directly at the user, making the sound seem loud and rich.

On the back there are markings of connectors and a 5 Mpx camera.

There are no special complaints about the assembly: all parts of the tablet are tightly fitted to each other, the gaps are minimal.
Screen
The screen of the M8HD tablet has a diagonal of 10.1 inches, and this despite the fact that the body is used from the previous M8 Pro tablet with a diagonal of 9.4 inches. Therefore, the bezels along the edges of the screen turned out to be quite thin, but there is no discomfort from them. The matrix on the tablet is from LG, Full HD IPS, the resolution is 1920 x 1200 pixels.

The controllability of the touch function of the display is 10 out of 10. The viewing angle on all sides is close to 180 °. The screen is very good, although at the minimum level of brightness it turns out to be brighter, which in complete darkness is abundant for reading, but optimal for watching video. The brightness of the screen is sufficient for using the tablet not only indoors, but also in the shade in daylight. Indoors, the brightness can be cut in half to enjoy the picture quality and extend the tablet battery life.
Software
Firmware version dated 10/28/2013. Despite the fact that the tablet uses a modern version of the operating system, the developer suggests using a proprietary shell, instead of the standard one from Google... They can be used in parallel, or you can fix one of them on a permanent basis so that you do not answer the question every time you switch to main screen: "Which shell to use"?

The proprietary shell is somewhat reminiscent of the "Metro" used in Windows 8. The developer originally filled all standard screen areas for programs with widgets, and a recognizable matrix turned out, although no Metro properties are supported.

Each virtual screen is divided into two parts and the user can fill in the selected cells in his own way. If the program supports widgets, then the cell will be completely occupied, otherwise only the program's icon and name are displayed.

Performance
The tablet is built on the basis of a Rockchip RK3188 quad-core processor, operating at a frequency of 1.6 GHz, a video accelerator - Mali 400 MP4, volume random access memory- 2 GB, internal storage capacity - 16 GB, memory cards up to 32 GB are supported.

The tablet turned out to be very docile, manageable, fast and omnivorous. Watching videos is a simple task that does not require additional settings when watching various codecs. Hardware decoder handles video easily.

A quad-core processor and a graphics accelerator of the same number of cores, together make an excellent tandem for games of any complexity. The docility of the tablet along with the power allows you to play with complete pleasure without stumbling during control.

In the browser, the tablet is also nimble and behaves predictably. Easily loads sites, scales the image, smooth and fast scrolling, which can be done with a "pull". The screen is well calibrated and there are no problems with your finger on the links.

Battery
The device has a non-removable lithium ion battery capacity of 8000 mAh. In reading mode (brightness 10%, airplane mode on) the tablet was discharged in 12 hours. In video playback mode (HD-video, brightness 50%, "Airplane" mode is on), the battery lasted a little over 8 hours. In general, there are no complaints about the battery.
Wireless interfaces
Wi-Fi (b / g / n) - there are no complaints about the module's operation. The reception radius is on par with other modern tablets.
Bluetooth 2.1 - most of the wireless functions associated with it are supported, including A2DP.
3G - the tablet works fine on my network (Rostelecom) in both 3G and 2G bands.
Camera
The tablet has two cameras: the main one at 5 MP and the front one at 2 MP. The main camera is suitable only for the most undemanding user (to shoot a landscape or text from a sheet of paper), despite the fact that it has autofocus, and the front camera is perfect for video calls in Skype. I apologize that there are no photos from the tablet camera. (but as a bonus, a review in the review)
Case
On my first tablet (1.5 years ago), with careless handling, the screen was broken for 2 days of use.
This time I insured myself and ordered it on ebay at the same time as the tablet.

The quality of the cover is excellent, the seams are even, the threads do not stick out, the material is pleasant to the touch.

All holes match perfectly, the tablet in the case sits tightly (inserted with little effort) does not dangle.

In general, an excellent case, the only minor drawback is that the beautiful shapes and design are lost in the rough rectangular shape of the case.
Therefore, the other day I ordered another

on Aliexpress.
In this case, the sides of the tablet are completely open.

Outcomes
+ pluses +:
-powerful, thin and light tablet
-long battery life
-good screen
-unwonted appearance
- a high degree of obedience of the device
-modern characteristics
-two speakers on the front panel
-minuses-
For me personally, there is only one significant drawback - the "damp" firmware. During the use of the tablet, it hung a couple of times, and once "went" into a deep sleep. In both cases, a reboot helped (pressing the RESET button, which can only be pressed with a pin, since it is located inside the tablet and can only be accessed through a millimeter hole in the tablet case next to the camera)
Also, sometimes an error message pops up on the screen in the PIPO launcher (although I deleted it a long time ago), I use the launcher from Sony Xperia.
I think that such little things will not discourage you from buying this tablet. Moreover, a beta version has already been posted on Pipo's website official firmware android 4.4., in which I hope to fix these problems. Also on the site w3bsit3-dns.com has already appeared a custom I liked the review +31 +76

This quad-core RockChip tablet PC is ideal for working with office documents, and for entertainment and watching videos. Order this tablet in our store - with us favorable prices, discount promotions and free shipping!

Advantages of the Tablet PC

Slim body, light weight, high-quality assembly

Of the most interesting visual features, it is worth mentioning the presence of a 10.1-inch touchscreen in the device, which is located across the entire width of the case, and is not recessed into it, as is often the case. In general, the assembly is good, and do not be confused that the M8 HD model is a product of a Chinese company, because the brand is really popular and has established itself with positive side... It should be noted right away that the device is large, so carrying it with you constantly can be problematic, unless you are specifically looking for a device with big screen to make it convenient, for example, to work with a large amount of text.

The manufacturer has endowed the tablet with serious capacities, which will be enough to open heavy tabular Exel databases, not to mention modern three-dimensional toys, which are becoming more and more interesting every month both in terms of playability and in terms of graphics. Everyone, from schoolchildren to retirees, will like to have fun, study and work with this tablet.

Wide software capabilities of the operating system

But you should not focus all attention on external and technical signs alone, when an important part of any tablet pc is his software shell, which, in the case of the Pipo M8 HD tablet, is the Android 4.2 operating system, which has become popular in a very short period of time for its flexibility and versatility. You can very easily install additional applications for work, study and entertainment - at your service is a large repository of programs (both paid and free) from Google.

As for data storage, the tablet has a stock of its own memory of 16 gigabytes, but you, of course, can expand it by ordering in our section Memory cards additional storage microSD-module, for example, 32 gigabytes, that is, you can triple the storage characteristics of the device!

Specifications Chinese tablets every day they get better, but the price remains the same or even decreases. Initially, the "Chinese" won over B-brands only due to a better screen and powerful processor at the same cost. However, almost all models of Chinese tablets over the past year had one significant drawback: they lacked a 3G module. This was due to the fact that the presence of 3G significantly increased the tax on transportation, there were also other, less known facts. 2013 can be called the year of affordable 3G tablets in terms of Chinese models.

The considered Pipo M8 Pro, in addition to the 3G module, is also interesting for its diagonal: 9.4 '' is not much less than ten, however, such a decrease allowed to significantly reduce the dimensions of the tablet.

Equipment

  • Tablet
  • Headset plugs
  • USB-OTG cable
  • Charger
  • PC cable

The device comes in a very thin box. Initially, I thought that nothing really could be put into it, except for the tablet itself, which, however, was not far from the truth. All accessories were in additional packaging.

Separately, I was pleased with the earplugs. I never get tired of scolding manufacturers for low-quality and cheap earbuds, so I was especially glad to see good earplugs in the M8 Pro kit.

Appearance, materials, assembly

Remember Sony Xperia Tablet S? Nice tablet with a screen diagonal of 9.4 inches. Apparently, its design and dimensions were inspired by the creators of the M8 Pro. Or, more precisely, they just copied its appearance and dimensions, let's call a spade a spade.

By the way, despite the almost complete similarity, the M8 Pro has speakers located on the front side, and not on the back, as in the Xperia Tablet S. This is certainly a big plus of the model. Although, despite this arrangement, their volume is at a very mediocre level.

The back of the device is made of matte soft-touch plastic. Thanks to him, the tablet is pleasant to hold in your hands and does not get dirty.

Most of the connectors are located on the upper end: a slot for a SIM card, a slot for a memory card, two microUSB connectors (one for connecting to a PC, the other for connecting a USB-OTG cable), a microHDMI port and a connector for its own charger. You can also see the indicator light here (a very strange place for its location). I think you noticed the two double buttons, initially I thought it was a volume rocker, but it turned out to be the combined "Menu" and "Back" buttons. It is completely incomprehensible to me why to abandon the volume rocker (and it really does not exist, the volume is changed using the on-screen buttons), but at the same time add a strange key that emulates the actions of calling the menu and the "Back" button.

On the right side there is only the power button, and on the left there is a 3.5 mm headphone jack.

There are no special complaints about the assembly: all parts of the tablet are tightly fitted to each other, the gaps are minimal.

Dimensions (edit)

As I said in the introduction, a slight decrease in the diagonal allowed us to significantly reduce the dimensions of the device. For example, it weighs only 522 grams, although most 10-inch tablets start at 600 grams (excluding flagships like the Sony Xperia Tablet Z).

The thickness of the model is 10.8 mm, it is important to note that only the upper part of the tablet has this thickness, closer to its lower end it starts to decrease.

It's pointless to compare the M8 Pro to 10-inch tablets, but let's look at its dimensions in comparison with the Xperia Tablet S.

  • Pipo M8 Pro- 240x172x10.8 mm, weight 522 grams
  • Sony Xperia Tablet- S 240x174x9 mm, weight 570 grams

It's funny that with similar dimensions and less thickness, the Tablet S's weight turned out to be almost 50 grams more, apparently, the use of metal in the case plays a role here.

Screen

M8 Pro screen diagonal - 9.4 inches, resolution - 1280x800 pixels, matrix type - TFT-IPS, screen covered protective glass... There is no oleophobic coating, so it is not very convenient to move your finger across the screen and erase prints. By the way, a high-quality film was initially pasted on the screen, I strongly recommend not to remove it.

Sure, after the FullHD tablets, the numbers in the M8 Pro look pretty modest, and you can even make out the pixelation if you look closely, but otherwise it uses a decent screen with good viewing angles and average brightness.

The screen fades almost completely in the sun.

Separately, I note that the difference in diagonal compared to ten-inch tablets is almost not felt. By the way, the device has automatic adjustment brightness, and it works, in my opinion, not bad.

Operating system

The tablet works under Android 4.1.1 with a few additions from Pipo. In fact, the manufacturer has installed six or seven programs with Chinese software, of course, they are completely uninteresting to us. Separately, I would like to note the large widgets for wireless interfaces.

Otherwise, we have pure Android 4.1.1 without any "bells and whistles".

Performance

The tablet is built on the basis of a Rockchip RK3188 quad-core processor operating at 1.6 GHz, a Mali 400 MP4 video accelerator, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage, memory cards up to 64 GB are supported.

Traditionally, let's start with scrolling through the desktops, everything is pretty mediocre here: they seem to scroll smoothly, but the more icons and widgets they have, the slower the built-in launcher "turns and turns".

The standard browser works quite fast, even "heavy" articles with a lot of pictures are loaded and scrolled quickly and without delays.

With games, the situation is twofold: on the one hand, neither N.O.V.A. 3, nor NFS: Most Wanted were found in Play Store, however, if you install these games on a tablet, then there are no complaints about the speed of their work.

Battery

The device has a 6500 mAh non-removable lithium-ion battery.

In reading mode (10% brightness, Airplane mode on), the tablet was discharged in ten hours.

In video viewing mode (HD video, 100% brightness, Airplane mode on), the battery lasted for a little over five hours.

In daily use, depending on your scenarios, the tablet can last from three to seven days.

Video and reading

Personally, I find seven / eight-inch tablets in portrait orientation optimal for reading. Ten-inch devices are not so convenient precisely because they are too elongated in vertical mode. Why is this preface? The M8 Pro has a slightly smaller screen, but it doesn't feel so big anymore. It feels like reading from a glossy A4 magazine. These 0.7 inches have a very significant impact on the readability. By the way, with the advent of the Kindle Paperwhite, I use (to sync the reading place between different devices). I recommend everyone to try it.

As for the video, there are no problems here: the reduced diagonal of the tablet has almost no effect on the viewing convenience. Support for codecs is also good, the player copes well with both simple DVDRip and heavy HD video with two audio tracks and high bitrate. Almost all video codecs (H.264, Xvid, DivX, VC-1), video formats (AVI, MKV, MP4) and audio codecs (AAC, FLAC, DTS, AC3) are supported.

The tablet screen is great for both reading and watching videos, however, public transport you will have to crank the brightness to the maximum.

Camera

The tablet has two cameras: the main one is 5 MP and the front one is 0.3 MP. The main camera is suitable only for the most undemanding user (to shoot a landscape or text from a sheet of paper), despite the fact that it has autofocus, and the front camera is great for video calls in Skype. Examples of pictures are below.

An example of the front-facing video camera in Skype

Wireless interfaces

Wi-Fi (b / g / n)- there are no complaints about the work of the module. The reception radius is on par with other modern tablets.

Bluetooth 2.1- most of the wireless functions associated with it are supported, including A2DP.

3G- the tablet works great in our networks, both in 3G and 2G bands.

Conclusion

The cost of the tablet is 10 thousand rubles. For this money, you get a slightly more compact device (against the background of ten-inch competitors) with excellent case materials and appearance.

It makes sense to pay attention to the M8 Pro if you were just looking for something slightly smaller than a regular 3G tablet. Of the shortcomings, I would note some scarcity Play Market’A and small brakes in the stock launcher. If you are not confused by either the first or the second, then I can safely recommend the M8 Pro for purchase. By the way, the guys from Eplanshet recently received a certificate from Pipo, so now these devices have a one-year official warranty from the manufacturer (it includes repair or replacement of the device in case of marriage).

It is important to note that for 10 thousand you can already find tablets with Full HD resolution, however, such models do not have a 3G module, so before buying it makes sense to decide what is more important to you, a better screen, or support mobile networks in the tablet.

Dignity:

  • Smaller footprint than 10 '' tablets while maintaining nearly the same screen diagonal
  • Nice appearance
  • Quality materials
  • Screen

disadvantages:

  • A small number of games in the Play Market
  • Slight jerking when paging desktops
  • Average speaker volume
