Where to get it

Check the amperage that the cord is capable of carrying

The original cords are designed for the amperage supplied by the charger. When purchasing a cheaper accessory, be sure to check what amperage this cable is capable of carrying. If, for example, the charger gives out 2 A, and the cord can only transmit 0.6-0.7 A, then the charging time of the smartphone will increase significantly, and in some cases the gadget may not charge at all. Sometimes, due to such cords, the smartphone battery breaks down.

The strength of the current that the cable conducts can be indicated on the packaging of the accessory or given in the product description in the online store.

Decide on the shape

There are mainly three types of charging cords: round, flat and twisted. The first type is the most common. It is characterized by its durability and long service life. The second one is well suited for travel, as it is less tangled and when folded takes up almost no space. The third is designed for charging in cars: such a cable will not get tangled underfoot.

The braiding of the cord can be made of plastic, fabric, metal, silicone, leather. The most short-lived are plastic-braided cords. The most durable and reliable ones are with metal ones, but they are expensive. Fabric-braided cords are less prone to damage, so they are well suited for constant carry.

My smartphone does not have an LED charge indication. And sometimes it is difficult to understand whether it is charging there inside or not; you have to unlock it and see it with your own eyes. And this is inconvenient, because laziness. There are several ways to get out of this situation, and the most budgetary of them is described below.

The declared length of 1 (one) meter does not correspond. More specifically, it exceeds (!). In fact, we have about 120 cm.


Diameter with braiding is approx. 4 mm. The braid, by the way, is dense and even. Pretty nice to the touch - nylon after all


Let's consider the main feature - light signaling in more detail.
When power is applied, the transparent base of the micro-USB connector starts to glow and a couple of times changes its color from green to red and vice versa. This process is quite fast, it takes about a second. Ultimately, the light guide starts to glow evenly. green... The glow is not bright, annoying or distracting. No blinks, sticking, ripples, tremors or other special effects were noticed.


The color change show is repeated when the load is connected (in the form of a half-starved tablet). The color changes again a couple of times, but now it stops at an even red.


This continues until the current in the circuit drops to a quarter of an ampere.


A value of 0.25 amperes is a threshold value, the overcoming of which signals the end of the charge and is accompanied by a change in the color of the indicator from red to green. But here, without any frills, click and that's it.


): I did not manage to achieve the promised sky-blue glow (as in the photos of the seller). This is not critical for me, the two-color indication is enough for me. But as they say, the sediment remained ... in general, one gets the impression that the photos in the description were taken from another revision / model of the cable.
I also did not manage to pass a current of 5 volts / 2 amperes through this lace. Although the results were generally good, especially considering the length and origin of the cable. One way or another, I was able to register 4.81 volts at 1.64 amps.

Electrical measurements

For the objectivity of the picture, let's first test the Prestigio HKA01105021-XE power supply.


His performance characteristics in practice are as follows:
Idling - 5.23V⎓0.00A


When connecting a resistor in the "1 A" mode - 5.04V⎓0.96A


... in the "2 A" mode - 5.09V⎓1.90A

Now we will carry out the same measurements by connecting this power supply with a volt-ammeter using the cable under test.
Idling - 5.21V⎓0.00A


When connecting a resistor in the "1 A" mode - 4.94V⎓0.85A


... in the "2 A" mode - 4.81V⎓1.64A
