A month ago I replaced my Zopo zp998 (MTK 6592) with Elephone Pioneer P7000 (MTK6752).

Satisfied with the result of the replacement:

Included are - charging 1A, microUSB cable, 2 films, protective glass, instructions and a case.

Comes with a smart case. The front cover is plastic, pasted over with a cloth or something similar. There is a through hole in which the clock is displayed.
The reverse side is a transparent plastic, worn over the standard cover.

Opening the cover turns on the screen, when the cover is closed or turned on with the lid closed, the clock is displayed (the view is customizable).

It can also display the display of player control, an alarm call or an incoming call.

In general, it is convenient, but there is also a minus. If you carry your phone in your trouser pocket, then you need to be careful not to put the phone with this window to your leg. Otherwise, a surprise awaits you in the form of music that suddenly plays from your pocket.

Another interesting accessory is protective glass. This is the first time I've come across this! I wanted to immediately send it to the trash after the films on the screen (well, I can’t stand them!), But then I thought about it and decided to stick it on during my vacation and see (beach, sand - it will be scratched, somehow I reasoned ...)

The first thing that surprised me was that unlike the film, the glass is very easy to stick and without air bubbles.

Secondly, it looks like a factory one, the only place where you can see that this is glass is the top of the screen, where speaker, camera and proximity sensor.

And thirdly, the oleophobic coating on the glass is better than on the screen - it repels water better, it is easier to clean from fingers and the finger glides better.

Unfortunately, I didn’t have any photos of the glass separately, in all the photos of the phone in the review the glass is already pasted.

Appearance

Despite the rather classic appearance the phone looks good.
It sits well in the hand, there are no complaints about the workmanship. The only squeaks - if you press on the center of the back cover, it has no support there, and if you push it, it starts to creak.

From original solutions:

Top view - mircoUSB, audio jack, you can see the metal surface peeled off by keys, it is quite soft and easily gets scratches and dents. A month of carrying in your pocket along with the keys was not in vain. However, unlike the peeled painted plastic, this is not very striking.

On the top of the screen are the camera, earpiece, and light and proximity sensors. You can also see the edging from the pasted protective glass around holes.

At the bottom of the screen is a touch-sensitive home button combined with an event indicator. In my opinion, a pretty good solution. Also on the sides of it are hidden touch buttons back and menu. For the sake of design, they were left without illumination. The first couple of days it is unusual, and then you no longer pay attention - the buttons are on the first try.

The bottom edge of the phone has holes for the speakers. Alas, there is only one speaker - on the right. A microphone notch is visible above its upper left corner. He's also the only one here.

Above is the camera and flash. The flash is very bright and works great as a flashlight.

The fingerprint scanner is located under the camera. It is sharpened for the use of the index finger, you can use it without shifting the phone in your hand. Again, saving space on the front of the phone, with the current size of the phone, there would be no room for it there.

From below - a logo and dredging for removal of a cover. It should be noted that the lid is quite tight.

The weight of the phone is 191g without a case and almost 226g with a case.

The lid has a seal in the center, but it does not save from small squeaks, when pressed hard.

Battery and operating time

One of the most important parameters of the phone, in our time, is the battery capacity. In our case, these are honest 3450 mAh. This is a pretty good amount.

Weight - 59.1 g

The average life time of my phone is 2 days with an average load (full brightness, 2 SIM cards, 4G, wifi, some games, internet, books and music). This is a good result. My previous phone used to charge daily.

Under a good load, the phone lives for a day ... However, if you continuously play or watch a video, then it will last for 6-8 hours.

3 - turned on the gestures on the screen off (the result - the phone stopped falling asleep and began to eat the battery), at the end I noticed and turned it off. climbed the Internet, pumped up all sorts of programs (failure for a three)
4 - at 15%, the phone began to sound the alarm and offered an energy-saving mode (disabling background data transfer), agreed and turned on the bluetooth and music again ... in 20-30 minutes it went to 0 and turned off.

In total, almost a day, it seems to me not bad, if not for the antutu, then it lasted longer.

In the case of using the phone only for calls, then three or four days will definitely last.

The screen is great! IPS OGS with FullHD resolution, protective coating - Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The colors are rich, the screen is bright.

Excellent viewing angles, there is no color distortion at high angles, there is a slight loss of brightness.

In the sun, the screen loses brightness, but remains readable.

Supported screen image correction technology - MiraVision, to improve the picture.

Sound

Everything is good here. In a conversation, you can hear me, I can hear.
The external speaker is louder than the average for a Chinese hospital.
The sound quality is pretty decent, for my non-musical ear.
The same story with headphones (with sound, the headphones themselves are not included),
after zopo Zp998, the sound in the headphones seemed to me better.
The radio does not work without headphones.

The system has all sorts of sound enhancements (this is most likely from the 5th android, but not sure). In particular, there is a setting for bluetooth - do not compress lossy audio

GPS, Glonass

GPS was one of the reasons for changing the phone. Unfortunately, zp998, if you do not use GPS for a long time or change the terrain, refused to catch satellites without a shaman's tambourine.

Fortunately, this problem has been solved in the new generation of MTK chipsets. The phone is equally good at catching satellites out of the box and let's say if you flew to rest in another country. In this regard, he helped me a lot on vacation.

Everything works without problems. Wi-Fi supports both 2.4G and 5G networks.

Tests, sensors, etc.

Unfortunately, here in the latest firmware they messed up with performance, there were graphics slowdowns in heavy games, the figure in tests fell.
The reason is already clear, there are user patches that fix the problem. Next week we are waiting for an official firmware update that solves this problem. In this regard, a screenshot from the old firmware version

Fingerprint scanner - this part of the menu is not translated, but everything is clear there.

You can set up to 5 fingerprints and a password is required for them (alternative access). You can lock your phone and/or any apps through the fingerprint scanner.

App lock. It can be useful - block access to photos from curious colleagues or friends, restrict access to games for children on their parent's phone ...

Window when launching a blocked application

As for the accuracy of fingerprint recognition, it’s different for everyone, for someone with 1-2 attempts, for someone with 3-4. I belong to the second group :) They say that it depends on the humidity of the hands, on the correct position of the finger during scanning, that reading can be improved by filling all 5 possible fingers with one real finger, and so on. I didn't bother, I don't need a scanner.

Firmware, Root rights

C root rights we have no problem, the method has long been posted both on w3bsit3-dns.com and on the official forum.

Firmware is at the same time a headache of the phone (some things in the phone are raw) and at the same time, so far, the strength of the phone.

Strong, because for a little more than a month of the existence of the phone, 3 firmware updates have already been released over the air. Episode 4 is due out next week. I am glad that the new firmware not only fixes bugs, but also adds something new (for example, the ability to block individual applications with a finger scanner or support for MiraVision image enhancement technology)
