Delivery of orders from iHerb to Russia by local Premium postal service (Global Mail by DHL, Russian Post). DHL Global Mail tracking of postal items German transport company DHL eCommerce tracking in Russia

When choosing delivery from iHerb "Local postal service Premium"(it was once called "Global Mail by DHL") after the order arrives in Russia, it is moved here Russian Post to your nearest post office, a tracking tracker is provided.

Once upon a time, parcels from iHerb were also sent simply by “Local Postal Service” (without the prefix "Premium"). They were without a tracker for tracking, and the Russian Post often simply “lost” them (including mine once, after which I swore off using this type of delivery). Buyers, of course, made a fuss. At some point, iHerb even began to reimburse the cost of “lost” parcels. But one day they finally completely abandoned the trackerless option, and they did the right thing.

In general, I previously recommended avoiding “Local Postal Service Delivery.” Now I won’t threaten her, fortunately there is a tracker - there is responsibility. And I convinced myself that it works. However, I still recommend choosing delivery services whenever possible Boxberry or Pony Express as more reliable. On the other hand, in the outback of our country, it is problematic to receive an order from iHerb otherwise than through the Russian Post - Boxberry pick-up points and PickPoint parcel terminals are still not available everywhere, but Express delivery Pony Express can be a bit pricey.

I'll start with the features of "Delivery by local postal service Premium":

  • The order amount must be no more than 100 US dollars and the weight should not exceed 1.8 kg.
  • The cost is calculated automatically based on the weight and amount of the order - the lighter and more expensive it is, the cheaper the delivery, which can even become free.
  • While when choosing Boxberry as a carrier, you must indicate your TIN, and the monthly volume of foreign purchases is limited ( no more than 1000 euros and 31 kg per month per person), in this case there is no need to indicate the TIN and, as I understand it, you can order unlimitedly. Although few people go for 1000 euros a month, of course.

Now about placing and receiving your order.

In the shopping cart, in the delivery method selection block, select the item "Delivery by local postal service Premium".

In the next step, enter your payment information (more about this in the article) and place your order.

Parcel tracking from iHerb

To track the movement of your parcel, go to the section "Orders" your account on iHerb and click on the button for the desired order "Track my parcel". The same button is available in the letter from iHerb stating that your order has been shipped.

A page will open with the current status and the two previous ones. When you press the button "View departure history" All previous statuses will be shown starting from the moment you placed your order.

When you click on the tracking number next to the icon "Global Mail by DHL"(that is, which in my case is GM545322484029179213) you can go to the service website DHL, where you will see mostly the same information. The page language can be switched to Russian.

You can also sign your email address to notifications about changes in order status.

In the upper right corner of the page there is another track number for tracking the parcel - and this is the tracker Russian Posts.

You can copy it and enter it in the special field on .

Then you will also see detailed information about the movement of the parcel.

Let me clarify a point about the country. In Germany, the parcel simply made a transfer. She can also do this, for example, in Sweden.

I placed my order July 7, and it arrived at the post office nearest to me July 19. It turns out 12 days from the USA to the far Moscow region - quite good for Russian Post.

The only thing I didn’t like was that on one side the box was very wrinkled, as if it had fallen from a great height, or something heavy had fallen on it. I don’t remember similar cases with parcels carried by the Boxberry service.

Overall, now with the introduction of package tracking, I think you can feel pretty safe choosing “Premium Local Post Delivery” for your iHerb orders. However, I would still recommend using it only if delivery by Boxberry or Pony Express is not at all convenient for you. Still, these services work noticeably more quickly and treat the cargo more carefully.

DHL takes its name from the first letter of each founder's last name: Adrian Delsey, Larry Hillblom and Roberry Lynn. Founded in San Francisco in 1969, DHL began relatively modestly, shipping paperwork between San Francisco and Hawaii. This service, which was initially provided by a single aircraft, allowed customs procedures to begin before the cargo arrived. It was DHL that became the pioneer of express air delivery of international shipments.

During the 1970s, DHL experienced a rapid period of expansion. New services were launched along the Pacific region, and major destinations served by DHL at this time included Hong Kong, Singapore and Japan. Services were expanded to Europe in 1974, and by 1978, shipping and receiving were available in Africa, Latin America and Australia. Until 1979, DHL specialized in the delivery of documents, after their services with great success expanded to package delivery. DHL became the first express delivery company to operate in China after an agreement was reached with the Chinese government.

Deutsche Post AG was founded in 1995, and by 1998 the huge German logistics company had acquired a minority stake in DHL. The merger was formally completed in 2002, protecting the jobs of DHL Worldwide Express's 71,000 employees at the time. Deutsche Post's logistics services were branded as DHL in 2003. Deutsche Post DHL is now one of the largest logistics companies in the world. Worldwide delivery is provided by DHL and extensive postal services are provided under the Deutsche Post brand in Germany. When making purchases in foreign online stores, we are all one way or another faced with the issue of tracking the postal item by which the purchased product is delivered to us.

This article will discuss general issues regarding tracking of international postal items (IPO). Will be considered general principles according to which MPOs are divided into tracked and untracked, the main stages of delivery that items go through. The issue of structure is considered separately international numbers for tracking, which are assigned to IGOs.

We will also talk about average delivery times and factors that greatly influence these terms. A separate section will provide information on the possibilities of tracking IPOs on the websites of state postal services of the countries of the sender and recipient, as well as the use of universal independent services for tracking.

Another Additional information You can always find information on these issues, as well as on customs clearance of international mail and the work of individual postal services in the wiki section of this site.

Basic principles

Tracked and non-tracked IGOs

IPOs (international postal items) are divided into two main categories:

  • Parcels(over 2 kg)
  • Small packages(up to 2 kg)

MPOs are also divided into:

  • Registered(with tracking capability)
  • Unregistered(not trackable)

Parcels, as well as any shipments via EMS, are always a registered shipment, but small packages can be either registered or unregistered.

A registered IPO in the country of departure is assigned a unique 13-digit tracking number, by which you can control the movement of the IPO from sender to recipient, using the tracking services of the national postal operators of these countries or independent tracking services.

The tracking number for registered small packages always starts with a letter R(Registered).

Accordingly, tracking the movement of MPO using tracking services is only possible for EMS shipments, parcels and registered small packages, provided that you know the tracking number.

Examples of tracking numbers:

  • CQ123456785US – postal item from the USA (parcel)
  • RN123456785US – postal item from the USA (small package)
  • EE123456785US – EMS shipping from the USA
  • RA123456785CN – postal item from China
  • RJ123456785GB – postal item from Great Britain

The last 2 letters in the tracking number indicate the country in which the item is accepted for shipment. You can read more about the structure of the track number in the next section.

When an unregistered MPO arrives in Russia, Russian Post assigns it an internal tracking number of type RA*********RU. This number is internal information of the postal operator and serves for internal accounting of incoming international mail and subsequent settlements with the postal operator of the country of departure.

The recipient can find out this number only upon receipt of the IPO.

Track number structure

According to the rules of the UPU (Universal Postal Union) (standard S10), the IPO track number consists of 9 numbers and 4 letters. Track number structure: XX*********XX, where X are letters and * are numbers.

Example: RA123456785GB

The first two capital Latin letters indicate the type of postal item. Here are the main ones:

  • LA-LZ- unregistered MPO weighing less than 2 kg (small package). Not tracked.
  • RA-RZ- registered MPO weighing less than 2 kg (small package). Tracked.
  • CA-CZ- registered MPO weighing more than 2 kg (parcel). Tracked.
  • EA-EZ- registered IPO, issued as express shipment (EMS). Tracked.

Next, the track number indicates an eight-digit digital unique IPO number. According to UPU rules, it cannot be repeated for at least one year. The last (ninth) digit is a verification code calculated using a certain mathematical function of the item number.

At the end of the track number, two capital Latin letters are also indicated, which abbreviated the country of the sender according to the ISO 3166-1-alpha-2 code standard. For example CN- China, S.G.- Singapore, G.B.- Great Britain, DE- Germany, US- USA, etc.

2. greatly simplifies the procedure for tracking registered mail items using the user-provided track number and combines tracking systems of postal services from 27 countries around the world. Allows you to create lists of verified track numbers, keeps statistics of average delivery times for items from different countries. Allows you to predict the time it takes for a shipment to pass through one or another stage of delivery.

3. - can be installed on both PCs and personal mobile devices. The list of supported services includes more than 250 email services. Allows you to create lists of verified track numbers. In addition, it is possible to add user data to the tracking number, which allows you to have accurate information about all the events that occur with a specific order from the moment it is paid for in the store until the moment it is delivered to the recipient.

In addition to the above, there are many other mail tracking services with different capabilities and different composition of supported mail services, so there is no particular point in listing them. The only thing that stands out a little apart is , which does a good job of tracking China Post parcels, but has a rather inconvenient interface and does not support many of the recently emerged local Chinese logistics companies.

Why does the average buyer need tracking?

In this final section I would like to say a little not only about the technical side of the issue, which the article was devoted to, but also about the psychological side of the tracking issue. And also talk about the general purposes of tracking.

It is quite understandable that all buyers want to receive their goods as quickly as possible and secretly hope that the goods sent, say, from China or the USA will reach the recipient in Russia in a week. But, alas, miracles do not happen, and when choosing delivery of goods by the regular state postal service, you need to be mentally prepared for a wait of 3-4 weeks.

During this time, someone will check their track number only a few times to make sure that the shipment is moving, and someone will check their track number several dozen or hundreds of times... Of course, the latter is more typical for newcomers to online shopping and their excitement even somewhere justified. But the truth lies in the fact that no matter how many times we check our track number, the package will not move faster! Therefore, you still shouldn’t be so paranoid about tracking issues.

In essence, tracking is a tool for monitoring the physical movement of a shipment, in principle, a tool for monitoring compliance with delivery deadlines. And the shipment tracking data, for example, will be very useful to you if you decide to make any claims to the postal services regarding the delivery of the item or the speed of delivery.

Therefore, three main tracking purposes can be defined:

  • Informational - when the recipient simply tracks the movement process and delivery time of his shipment, receiving information from tracking systems.
  • Control - when the recipient, using information from tracking systems, can control the timing of the shipment at certain stages of its processing and delivery in order to correlate these timing with the control delivery dates and receive any compensation from the postal services in case of non-compliance with these deadlines.
  • Evidentiary - when information from tracking systems serves as evidence in possible disputes between the sender and recipient, in case of failure to receive the shipment or its loss (alas, this also happens sometimes)

To reduce the time spent on the tracking process itself, it is of course recommended to use independent tracking services that allow you to create lists of tracked track numbers. The track number is added there once and only then you can easily view the tracking results once every 1-2 days. This significantly reduces the time it takes to track all your parcels and saves you stress.

Good luck with your shopping and fast shipping!

Many of you who quite often purchase goods from foreign Internet stores, you've probably encountered DHL delivery; this type of delivery is very popular among and. DHL is one of the world's leading logistics companies in the field of express cargo delivery. The company's headquarters is located in Bon (Germany), and the company got its name from the first letters of the surnames of its founders.

Typically, DHL delivery is used when sending quite expensive goods from the premium segment, since the cost of shipping is not cheap, but the quality is appropriate. Tracking DHL shipments is of course an undeniable advantage, thanks to which you will always be aware of the movement of your parcel, but the tracking process has its own subtleties, which we will talk about.

Regardless of where your parcel was sent from, be it China, the USA or Europe, all DHL parcels will sooner or later end up at the company's sorting facility in Germany, after which they will be sent to the destination country.

For residents of central Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and Kazakhstan this type delivery is the most optimal, since logistics are well established and parcels reach recipients without problems. To track DHL Global Mail, the first thing you need to do is make sure that your track code is correct and belongs to DHL. Today the company uses several track code formats:

  • RX840672837DE (Standard track code in UPU format)
  • GM15113670033214782 (Internal format track of the DHL code, consists of 2 letters “GM” - Global Mail and 17 digits, ensuring the uniqueness of the shipment)
  • 9617389651 - a digital code, in fact, this is the invoice number, which will also not be difficult to track a DHL shipment
  • JD014600008716549072 - this is how DHL usually labels international express shipments, one of the fastest and most expensive types of delivery DHL Express WORLDWIDE

To track DHL Global Mail shipments, just go to the appropriate section on. Even before the actual shipment, you can make sure that the seller has filled out the address correctly; this information comes with the first tracking status of your parcel:

  • Receiving an electronic notification (Track code is registered by the seller, but the parcel has not actually been sent yet)

After the status appears:

  • Arrival of the shipment at the DHL eCommerce Global Express Post location

The parcel arrives at a DHL sorting facility, where it is weighed and transferred to the domestic postal service for further delivery. Further statuses of the movement of DHL parcels depend on the country of departure and destination, but the first two always remain unchanged.

To make DHL Global Mail tracking clearer, let’s look at the example of one parcel, .

As you can see, for delivery from China, DHL decided to use the internal one, which it sent the parcel to its sorting point in Frankfurt (Germany).

After processing at its sorting facility, DHL transfers the parcel to the German national postal service (DeutschePost) for further delivery.

After the parcel arrives in the destination country, it is handed over to the local postal service, for Russia this is Russian Post, for Ukraine - Ukrposhta, for Belarus - Belposhta, etc. The last status you will see when tracking a DHL shipment on , will be “The shipment has been transferred to the partner carrier”, after which the tracking stops and there will be no more new statuses using the track code, but how then can you track DHL Global Mail until the parcel is delivered?

The melon method works not only for Russia, but also for Belarus, Ukraine and other countries. After DHL has handed over your parcel to the local carrier, tracking on the DHL website stops, but from that moment on your track code begins to be perfectly tracked on the local postal service website.

There is one important point, regarding the second track code format, which we talked about above. In order to track it in Russia, you need to pay attention to the “Delivery by Postal provider” field on the DHL website, in which a new track code will appear, by which you need to track the parcel within the destination country.

In addition to the low-cost delivery type DHL Global Mail, the company provides international express delivery services called DHL Express WORLDWIDE. Of course, the cost of such shipments is many times higher, but the truth and speed of delivery is amazing, from one end of the world to the other on average in 3-4 days.

Large online stores usually enter into direct cooperation agreements with DHL and, due to large volumes, receive good discounts on delivery services from them. Thus, for a store client, the cost of international DHL Express WORLDWIDE delivery will cost an order of magnitude cheaper than if he himself wanted to send such a parcel.

We can look at this using a specific example. Not long ago, one of them sent us a fairly large order using DHL Express WORLDWIDE. The delivery cost for us was about $30, many are accustomed to always choosing only free shipping, but believe me, it’s worth it if the timing is really important to you and the product is of a certain value.

To track DHL Express WORLDWIDE parcels, you need to enter the track code or invoice number and click “Track”, which will give you a complete history of the movement of your cargo. We ordered this product to the address of our second editorial office in the Republic of Belarus and it was already in Minsk on the third day from the moment the parcel was actually sent from China.

Unlike Russia and Kazakhstan where customs limits for DHL express shipments are “human” and equal to approximately 200 euros/parcel, in Belarus everything above 22 euros is subject to payment of a tax in the amount of 30% of the cost of the overlimit + 5 euros clearance for each incoming parcel. Moreover, if in Russia the goods will be immediately delivered to your home by courier, then in Belarus, in order to receive your DHL Express parcel, you will also need to clear it through customs.

For Belarusians, let’s clarify a little the algorithm of actions when receiving DHL Express parcels in Minsk. About a day before the parcel arrives in the Republic of Belarus, you will receive an SMS message with the invoice number and a link to the website of the DHL representative office in Belarus. The procedure will be described on their website, but in a nutshell, everything will look something like this.

First of all, you decide whether you will clear the goods yourself or use the services of a customs intermediary. From the point of view of benefits, the second option is preferable, as it will save your time and money, because going to Minsk-2 airport, where the registration process is not so quick and cheap.

An agreement with an intermediary can be concluded without leaving your seat; to do this, you need to download it, sign it (without printing it), attach scans of your passport, an invoice of contents if you have one, and indicate a list of goods in a letter in Russian. If everything is fine, then in response you will receive a message from the customs agent, who will tell you all the details for paying all duties and directly their services.

The services of a customs agent will cost you approximately $15 + $5 customs duty for each parcel, other payments will depend on the over-limit. In our case it came out to about $30. After payment, all payments must be emailed to the customs agent and he will complete the clearance of your cargo. The next day the DHL courier will deliver your parcel.

The seller registered and sent the parcel from China on December 5th, on December 22nd it already arrived in Russia, a total of 17 days. Further delivery of the parcel was handled by the Russian Post; together with customs clearance and delivery to the local post office, 13 days passed.

As a result, the total delivery time was 30 days, but there is no need to consider this figure as a standard, the average delivery time of DHL Global Mail is approximately 20-35 days, in the end it all depends on the final destination of the parcel and the time of year. So before global international holidays such as New Year, delivery time may increase significantly, since sorting points are very overloaded due to the influx of shipments.

If we talk about the so-called premium DHL Express WORLDWIDE shipments, then for them the planned delivery time will usually be 3-4 days, and holidays and weekends in this case will not affect the speed in any way, the parcel will be delivered exactly on time.

In any case, tracking DHL shipments will always help you be aware of where your package is currently located, so if you order even before the New Year holidays, you can rest assured that the package will definitely arrive.
